PAN Works is committed to freedom of expression and does not engage in censorship or prior restraint. At the same time, we take responsibility for publishing content that aligns with our mission and values, and we are sensitive to communication that crosses the line into harassment, threats, or discrimination.
Unless explicitly stated otherwise, all opinions expressed in content published by PAN Works — including essays, commentaries, podcasts, and presentations by our Fellows — are those of the individual authors and do not reflect the official position of PAN Works or the authors’ affiliated institutions. Fellows and guest authors speak for themselves. PAN Works provides a platform for exploration, debate, and intellectual inquiry, not institutional endorsement.
When PAN Works chooses to express an official position as an organization, this will be clearly and unambiguously indicated as such.
We welcome our authors and editors to engage with critiques of their work in the spirit of open and constructive dialogue.
We also reserves the right to decline publication of submissions that are inconsistent with our mission, that promote misinformation, or that engage in personal attacks. Similarly, we reserve the right to moderate or delete comments on our Medium column or social media accounts that violate standards of civil discourse, especially those that are threatening, harassing, or discriminatory in nature.
PAN Works embraces Medium’s community rules including the default license, “All rights reserved.” Under this license, fellows and guest authors reserve all rights available to them under the law for their piece. Should an author seek additional options, Medium offers the full suite of Creative Commons licenses, CC0, and a public domain mark.
